Amy MacDonald

Née en 1987 à Glasgow en Ecosse, Amy s'intéresse très tôt à la musique. Très inspirée par les groupes de rock (Travis, The Rolling Stones), Amy emprunte la guitare de son père et sans avoir jamais pris de cours, commence à composer ses propres chansons. En adolescente qu'elle est encore, elle écrit sur Ewan McGregor (que sa soeur idolatre), Jake Gyllenhaal, et s'inpire de Pete Doherty: C'est après un concert de ce dernier que lui viendra l'inspiration de son tube, "This is the life".

"J'ai vu Pete Doherty sur scène à Glasgow juste après qu'il ait quitté les Libertines. C'était une nuit d'enfer. Il nous a fait une petite session acoustique après le show et on est entrés dedans! Mes musiciens et moi sommes rentrés dans la maison d'un copain, on s'est assis, passés la guitare, on a chanté des chansons, On était à fond dedans. Le lendemain matin, j'écrivais "This is the life", parce que j'ai réalisé que oui, c'était ça la vie."

La chanteuse sort alors son premier album, This is the life, en août 2007, pour ses 20 ans. Elle sort les singles "Poison Prince", "Mr Rock And Roll", "L.A" ou encore "Run".

La chanteuse entame alors une tournée européenne en 2008 et se produit notamment au Bataclan à Paris le 13 novembre 2008.
